Who we are

SASES is a community action group ‘Substation Action | Save East Suffolk’. Our website address is: https://sases.org.uk

Our campaign is for a co-ordinated, less environmentally damaging energy policy for the Suffolk Coast. We do not consider SPR (Scottish Power Renewables) to have provided a fair & accessible consultation for EA1N & EA2 applications. We do not believe adequate due diligence was used to determine suitable locations for the onshore requirements of these projects. We question why not a single brown field site was included or considered for onshore requirements of these projects.

The impact of not getting this realisation now, threatens to undermine the rural communities in and around East Suffolk and cause unnecessary damage to the AONB landscape. We are fighting Scottish Power’s selection of a green field site (Grove Wood, Friston) and their plans to build a huge energy substations to connect the wind farms planed to off the Suffolk Coast.
